About me

Certified in London under the comprehensive tutelage of the renowned Alan Herdman, I have been teaching Pilates since 2008. I have since worked in a variety of environments, including Alan’s studios, a Physiotherapy Clinic in Battersea, and at Pilates Central in Islington (where you will still see me on their homepage video). Before becoming an instructor, I practised Pilates for many years. Currently, I am based mainly in Golborne Place, a fully equipped studio in Notting Hill.

After completing my Ph.D. in Law, I went from academia to a career in Management Consulting and Leadership Development. I always loved sport, and competed in equestrian events from an early age. Later, much of my spare time was spent running, hiking, skiing or salsa dancing and occasionally trying out new exercise fads. Around the year 2000, as ongoing hip and back pain became more and more of an issue, I turned to cortisone injections and even contemplated surgery. Finally, I began training, in a Pilates Studio in my hometown of Basel, Switzerland. One of the first studios to offer training with state of the art Pilates apparatus.

The improvement and relief I experienced within a short time was a revelation. Regular and concentrated Pilates practise, successfully addressed muscle imbalances that had been the cause of years of pain, in a way that other training methods had not remotely improved. Pilates thus became a central part of my routine. Since then, I have been a passionate believer in the effectiveness of informed and tailored exercise based on the Pilates method. My expertise extends from general conditioning, pre-natal and post-natal exercise, and remedial work, to specialised training for a variety of neurological conditions and pathologies.

With a new found passion for this movement practice, I finally decided to move from my former career, into teaching Pilates and so Pilates Passion was born!
